The designer Margarita Freire was born in Ecija (Seville) on the 10th of October 1971, although she has been living all her life in La Luisiana. Although nowadays she has become a great designer, her studies were not in this field. She studied Teaching, specializing on Especial Education, in Seville, where she lived until 1995. She then came back to her hometown, where she lives now, developing her career with success and absolute dedication.

Margarita Freire is totally self-taught. Her entry into the fashion world 11 years ago was casual at first. She doesn't remember the exact moment, since she has always been designing her own dresses and, later, her friends' and family's dresses also; in this way, she arrived at her current position. She doesn't just design flamenca dresses, but wedding and night dresses as well.

She says: 'I have to confess that flamenco fashion has always been my passion, since I was a child. The first dress that I designed was for my dolly and was made with clothes left from my mum, totally hand-sewn and not dominating the needle'.
